On Saturday 3rd October, we headed down to London to compete in the 2026 Monopoly Challenge.

The Monopoly Challenge saw 700+ young people and leaders from across the Boys’ Brigade work in teams to navigate around some of the UK’s biggest cities, ticking off major landmarks and completing challenges along the way.

We came 5th out of 26 teams, so we are very proud of the dedication and teamwork our members showed!

On Tuesday, our regular sessions took place after the excitement of the centenary weekend. But we weren’t finished with the celebrations – our current members had the chance to celebrate our 100th birthday with another cake especially for them!

Last weekend we celebrated our centenary! We had lots going on across the weekend. You can read more about it and view pictures/videos on our centenary page here.

Gareth, our treasurer, is walking 1000km to raise money to support our centenary and the Water Eaton Church Centre building project.

I’m raising £1000 to support 1st Bletchley Boys Brigade and Girls Association Centenary and Water Eaton Church Centre Building Project.

To celebrate the new football season, I will be taking the Virtual 92 Walking Challenge to visit all 92 English Football League grounds – a distance of 1,000 km. I have 12 months to complete this challenge, but my aim is to complete the challenge by the end of the football season in May 2027. I hope to raise funds to support two projects – 1st Bletchley Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association Centenary and Water Eaton Church Centre Building Project.

I have set an optimistic target of £1,000 – a £1 for each km. Please support if you are able. Thank you.

It happened! Many thanks to Dennis, Karen and Andy for dusting off their musical skills and having a go! For some the last time they played was 20 or 30 years ago!

We were missing buglers! If you used to play bugle, please consider coming along to the next practice on Saturday 29th August, from 9am-noon. That doesn’t mean that drummers and bell lyre players are exempt!

It’s been raining, it must be June! The Junior and Company Sections braved the weather for a gentle cycle ride a few months ago.

For many it was their first time cycling on the redways (MK cycle paths) and leisure paths along the many MK parks. The great thing with Milton Keynes, is that you’re never far from an underpass – very handy in dodging showers. As is the McDonalds at Westcroft, where we finished our route and missed a real downpour!

And with a rainy June comes a reminder of God’s promises.

Well, as we endure the hottest May Bank Holiday weekend, I’m so glad that we headed to the Peak District on Saturday, and no later!

Our older Junior Section members walked a good 13.9km chunk of the Monsal Trail in the Peak District. More information about it here.

They did phenomenally well, in tough conditions – not the normal wet and cold tough. We completed the route in 5 hours, including a lovely stop for lunch (buttercup field) and, of course, ice cream at Hassop Station.

Yesterday, the first Night Hike of 2026 done and dusted! Despite a downpour late in the afternoon, the evening was clear. With a 3/4 moon and clear skies we didn’t even need torches!

Well done to all for a good pace, and for scampering up Brickhill!
